Jonathan Paul Manziel

Manziel was awful last year, now he looks better..
For the love of all that's holy: Manziel is not remotely good.
He does not "look better" - he was simply given a longer audition. And he's shown why he's not a starter.
There are not praises to go 'round.. there's blame. Because he sucks. And that's being objective.
Hint: If you actually think he doesn't suck, you get to explain why the linked article doesn't matter.... or your post is fanboi BS.

I think he sucks just as much as a rookie should suck only 5 full games into their career.
I didn't say he doesn't suck. I said he looks better, because that is objectively true.
That article has been debated on here many times. It was an awful performance and it brought forth many concerns.
However, if you look at the All-22 from the Steelers game, you'd find that he had a better grasp of the offense and had fixed some of the mistakes that were shown in the linked article. It wasn't a perfect performance against Pittsburgh either, but it was better than against Cincinnati. He was buying into the offense, hitting open receivers, and not pressing for portions of the game - exactly what you'd expect from someone who is learning.
I don't want to proclaim him a franchise savior. All I want to see is if his next performance is better than his last.
We've seen what Johnny Manziel the drunk can do - that was 2015. I want to see what this supposed "new" Manziel is about.

Looks like The Onion is really hitting the Browns organization...
Mike Pettine Worried Bengals Gave Rest Of League Blueprint To Beat Browns
CLEVELAND—Following a 37-3 loss that saw his team outperformed in nearly every phase of the game, Cleveland head coach Mike Pettine admitted his growing concern Wednesday that the Cincinnati Bengals may have given the rest of the league the blueprint for beating the Browns. "You know, Cincinnati completely shut down our offense and ran all over our defense, and now I’m worried that other teams are going to be able to study exactly how they did it," Pettine told reporters, adding that he fears Sunday’s loss may have exposed some of the key weaknesses of his 2-10 team. "The Bengals totally figured us out. Any team that wants to know how to establish a passing rhythm against us or get to our quarterback will be able to figure it out just by watching the game tape from last week. It’s definitely a big problem moving forward." Pettine went on to express some confidence that even if the Browns’ upcoming opponents attempt to recreate the Bengals’ game plan, most teams will hopefully lack the personnel to slow down their 32nd-ranked run game.

I think this shows just how clueless he apparently is.
Unstated is: "and we are too dumb to make adjustments to anything the opponent may do".

Petine has no say in what goes on there I would imagine like shannahan he can't wait to get the fuck out of Cleveland away from that fucking Retard farmer

I would like to see Pettine stay another year. If he thinks the players are giving it all and if he does see something then.......... We only know what we see, we have no idea what is going on in the locker room or sideline. I do see a big change coming this off season but I don't see us changing coaches.

Who are his weapons? Outside of Benjamin we have the worst offensive players in the NFL. Who's going to be the play maker? We have Barnidge at thirty playing lights out and Benjamin. Duke Jr. And Crowell stink! We should have kept Turbin and Draugn. So when Johnny starts running for his life out there, Pettine will bench him again. Or tell the reporters at half time I wish he'd stay in the pocket.
There won't be any improvising on Pettine's watch. Look what improvising has done to Russell Wilson!
Bring Back Brownie has a point. Maybe Pettine was waiting for Manziel to do something stupid. But Jon Gruden thinks Manziel was treated unfairly. After all he wasn't doing anything illegal. Holding a bottle in front of a camera on your day off is a judgement call.
There's such a thing as being too critical. They knew what they were getting and drafted him anyway! Now they want him to change into St. John over night. He's 23, talented, cocky but used to be a winner. If they let him go to another team then maybe he will have a chance to prove he's still a winner.
If they keep him, which I doubt, they need to draft some weapons. No matter who plays QB for them next year they lack talent.
First off Benjamin is at best a number 3 option at wr, two we have a great line with great players problem we change offensive scheme every year they can't gel, three the front office won't let the coaches coach hince why shannahan is no longer there, four gruden is a dumb ass that's why he watches the games not coaching them, five little Johnny can never be Wilson, wilson is smart with the ball protects the ball scrambles to throw not to just go Wilson plays for his team little Johnny plays for him self.Who are his weapons?
