You're right- I don't care anymore.Oh, I'll still go to and watch the games, but I sure as hell am not expecting any wins.

IMHO you can currently count the number of Browns players that would start for a playoff caliber team on your fingers- maybe on one hand.

I still think this team will win more than last years team and I'm hopeful to be building in the right direction. I'm certainly not going to get all worked up about trading a punter for another punter and a 4th round pick.

Besides we can now put two punters back there and have one punt while the other fakes a run. New version of the pea under the shells game that confuses everyone. Browns FO explain it here. 😁

I'm not getting the hysteria over every move this coaching staff and front office make.

Kruger was a solid player, but he was getting up there, why the heck would you cut

a new, young player that has more skills, more powerful a rusher?

and Lee... terrific punter. How is it that he doesn't win games by himself?

Oh yeah, it's a team game, and the Browns are building a team. That failure to even

try to cover a punt just said a lot. Bring in another punter, get a 4th round pick,

and continue building a TEAM, where everybody is on the same page, and the best talent

takes the field. How else can they finally build a WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM here in Cleveland

if they don't start doing stuff, making hard choices, bringing in more, better, hungrier,

    faster, etc talent?

I also see the Browns winning more games than last season. It takes time to get so much

    together.

So why should they even wear pads if there is a an assertion that they should never have to make a tackle?

Running into the kicker is a big-time offense. I don't mean flattening him I mean a little tap that he can exaggerate into a fall to the ground.

Hue said that wasn't the reason if he can believe anything a coach or front office says but still...

And if I'm not mistaken kickers pads are a lot smaller than linebackers right?

To accommodate their frail frames. Yet still, they need to make an effort to prevent a touchdown.

So would you eliminate the running into the kicker penalty? Quarterbacks get knocked on their ass after the pass all the time.

Vested vets (like Krugs) who are released during the trading period (which we are in) are instant FAs with no contract attached to them.

Unvested players, players with fewer than four years accrued service, go through waivers and their contract goes with them through the waiver process. Once they "clear" waivers, then they are contractless.

Vested vets released outside the trading period are subject to waivers.

When he sucked major ass they cut him. Why would that be stupid and clueless? Literally a blow-up doll would be as effective as Kruger was for a long time.

Ive explained it 3 times...very clearly.....and you keep missing the whole point....Dont care if Kruger was cut. In fact, I wanted him cut. I care about how they are handling Ogbah and I care that, as you said, Kruger has sucked for a long time. They KNEW he sucked, they had the tape, they've had 4 weeks of camp and 3 games to grade him....and suddenly, he goes from starter to cut.... yet, having all this knowledge, they did not prepare Ogbah for the change. Now, with preseason and camp over, they 'suddenly" decide Ogbah should be moved(again) because they realize they dont have anyone to play the position. Ok?...explained AGAIN.....

Its the moving of Ogbah twice and their lack for forsight with the Kruger cut that bothers me....

Listen....I get whats happening....I understand why.....BUT, also have a right to be critical of moves I dont like and, just because Im critical, doesnt mean I dont get the "why" of it all....just dont like the path or choices so far.....

Look....I been listening to you whine non stop since Ive been here, so I get my moment in the shade too ....ya know?

Des Bryant? Seem to remember his injury dictating Ogbah's move to DE...

Right....Des goes down and they move Ogbah. I was with that 100%. Now Kruger leaves and it's suddenly critical to move Ogbah again?.....My question is why did they wait till this week to notice that?....again....my view...poor or lack of anticipation(or communication)....

If Horton and Co. burned any bridges, left themselves with limited OLB options, that's on them. It's not as if Krug's poor play snuck up on them overnite.

THAT is my whole point.....So, why act like it did???....because their actions suggest just that.....

As for Lee... fits the pattern. On field impact may materialize... Standings impact will be nil...

I have no problem with the Lee trade....

Main one I am seeing is that our latest "players' coach" is more of a myway/highway dick...

    lol... from Terry Pluto's column:

    14. How about this? The Browns received a fourth-round pick for their punter. But the best they could do for Barkevious Mingo was a fifth-rounder from New England. Mingo was the No. 6 pick in the 2013 draft. I expect Patriots coach Bill Belichick will find a role for Mingo. The Boston Globe said it will be on special teams and as a "spot rusher."

I guess we all know what Kruger is worth on the trade market...eh?.....less than Mingo, less than a punter.....nuff said....

Right, and I've explained 3 times now too that not having a guy in place by the third week in the preseason isn't some *gasp* moment either. They haven't even played a real snap yet, let's see how the young pups handle themselves when it matters before jumping off the ledge.

I get it man, but this was the plan all along. Think of it this way-at least you'll be keeping the local bar in business this year!

  • The 4th round pick that came in the deal will more than likely be meaningless.

It's not like the Browns have been a fucking drafting juggernaut over the last decade.

As they do Hue..... except maybe Mingo, Kruger and Lee - a bust draft pick, a bust FA and a player that gave up in an organized game.

    WSS

Yeah I would because accidentally bumping into someone should not be a penalty. Crushing someone well after the play is already covered by other rules.

Even in the preseason, players are supposed to make an effort to do their job. After a returner gets far enough down the field, a punter is supposed to try to tackle the returner. Throwing your hands up and power walking towards the runner makes you look like a giant asshole to the coaches and your teammates.

Hue came out and said Andy not trying to tackle the guy wasn't the reason he got sent packing. The reason he got traded was (only 1\2 kidding) Depodesta's aim is to have EVERY pick in the 2025 draft. LOL, he won't last that long. To your last point- Lee was clearly a better talent than what we got in return. Looks like the FO values future draft picks more than talent- or current wins. I tell ya Cal- this year it's "Dumpster Dive for DeShawn". Me & Mud are seeing it- (as well as Ghoolie). Eventually after 6-8 losses you'll come around to our POV.

Current wins were going to be few and far between anyway and so it should have not been confusing to anyone that they intended on stripping the team down to stock the shelves. The true test will be what they do with the draft picks. If they get all of those picks and screw them up then they will have their walking papers in 3-4 years.

Also, the Browns could be playing in the Super Bowl and Ghoolie would be badmouthing the team. The guy is a troll. At least I hope. If not, then he is a certified helmet head.

True enough- but I think we're in for a year of incredible suckage. The question is will the general fanbase be willing to put up with yet another year of that? I'll buy my season tickets regardless, but more and more fans are falling into the "casual" category & no longer invested emotionally with the team. Regarding Tom (Ghoolie)- yup I've met him several times, and in person he's pretty likeable. MHO is the reason he's been right so many times in the past is not through some Nostradamus like ability- it's the Browns have been comically inept over the last 15 or so years. My first round draft prognostications have been way better than Cleveland's- and that's not very hard to do. We wouldn't have had to deal with Smokin' Willie Green, Butterfingers Braylon, Quinn, Wee-done, Richardson, or Manziel.

  • By the way we keep reverting back to the understandable argument that we only won three games last year with the veteran players. Okay but isn't Hugh Jackson supposed to be a Hotshot coach? And Ray Horton? G-wiz aren't these guys a long shot better then Mike Pettine and Jim O'Neill?

So is it the coaching or the talent?

    WSS

  • Why are people surprised that we got a better deal on one of the best punters intje league vs an olb'er that doesnt like tackling its too icky..........why? One of tje best players at his position vs one of the worst at his position.
