Shelton traded to the Patriots

The Browns Board

  • If you recall, shelton didn't like the browns parade and complained a bit. He said both these things.

Can’t wait for things to start rolling the right way for the Browns. Funny how these “fans” will be the ones that say “I am a die hard Browns fan” but fans don’t disrespect their home team. ??‍♂️ I know we still have some faithful fans out there, things will get better! ✊?

There are players on this team who want to play and win for the Browns and The Land. Parading around isn’t encouraging a change, it’s more so encouraging players to avoid the opportunity to play here. 1-31 isn’t what we want to be known for but we won’t stop fighting to win here.

    - my thoughts are chances are that Shelton wasn't feeling the Browns anymore. Maybe Greg Williams didn't like him much, or Dorsey didn't think he was a "real player", but I think it was a combination of both. Also, maybe Danny had bad work ethic and a toxic attitude. That's obviously not a fact, but it can't be disproven either. Our trade to the pats was a Jamie Collins-esque trade, as we thought he'd for sure leave after next year.

another theory is that Jimmy traded him to save money and free up more cap room. but I believe the answer is a combination of both theories.

The truth is, the Patriots play different defenses, but they don't have a big NT once Alan Branch

retires/leaves - he's 33. All their other dlinemen are 315/300. Adding Shelton to the mix will help them

avoid another super bowl, where they faced an excellent defense, and they gave up about 150 yards rushing

at the worst times. That third round pick can get the Browns a very good player that fits.

I admire Danny Shelton - but he can shine as a NT for the Patriots. Good luck to him.

Cal, get out of here with that reasonable response. We either rage or love roster changes around here.

I have a feeling Ogbah puts on weight and they draft Chubb at #4

    they love Ogunjobi too

And I'm thinking Chubb @ #1 because he will be gone by #4.

Certainly shines a brighter light on Chubb.

...but if we take QB and NY takes QB, does Indy take Barkley?

”he has never gone on record saying he isn’t.”

  • We already lost a 3rd rd pk for Hemoroid Taylor or what ever his gay butt name is. At this point they will trade Gordon for a 2023 7th rd pk........Fukn stupid. The only half way decent player we got so far was that wr from the Phins., Other than that I don't like what they did or are trying to do.

So there's more to stat's than just their numbers?

This just might be the funniest thing I've ever read on the entire interweb.

  • Don’t like this one either but that’s because I’m Sashi Browns boyfriend.

I said all along they need to get someone badass to play next to Zumba pants. Shelton wasn't it.

  • Was Shelton THAT bad that THIS is the best we could do for him?

Yup, not that he was bad, but sheeze Louise. we picked up a pro bowl WR for a 4th.  🙂

Michael Bennett, Seahawks (8.5 sacks) was worth a 5th round pick + a throwaway WR (Marcus Johnson) 5 catches for 45 yards career.

Guess you can't keep everyone happy...

Did you bother to look at Taylor's stats before you start labeling him garbage? Since being the starter for the Bills he's a 92 QBR guy, 51 TDs to 16 INTs. He's a massive improvement over the turnover machine we shipped off to Green Bay. Not only that, I can make a serious case Taylor was throwing to WRs that were even worse than what the Browns had last year. The more I've researched it, the better I like this trade. His $16 million contract is in line with a mid level starter, and won't be a cap buster like Cousins would have been. BTW, Taylor is 6'0" tall- meaning Dorsey won't have any problems drafting a certain 6'0" quarterback from Oklahoma if he checks all the boxes.

  • All I can say is......

"Well there goes ANOTHER jersey!". Shelton's is his original Browns' #71, which was changed to #55 when Mack left. Danny then signed it for me with his new #55 & he wrote "Throwback" on it.

    1) I'm not buying another until they change 'em in 2020 unless I can get a vintage Clay Matthews Jr #57 for a decent price.

    2) From now on, no more buying current players jerseys.

I learned my lesson about that years ago Mike. I still have a Couch jersey gathering dust somewhere in the basement. My solution is to use #46 (Don Fleming's retired number) and put my name on the back. Never goes out of style. I'm about due for a new one, because my old Reebok one has seen better days.

I have a Mathews Jersey (Brown) with My name on it and a Thomas Jersey in white...

I'm not so sure NY takes a QB. They might go for the G though. If Chubb sits there @4 I take him over anyone else, but if he is really our first target then don't try to play games and hope he's there. Just take him. The top 3 QBs seem to be coin flips anyway. Now that Taylor is on board, take whomever is left if you see them all about equal.

  • Stop crying all you bitches we have a team that went 1-31 , had a parade, and now you want to complain about players trades and picks, this team SUCKS.  None of us were in the locker room, so no one knows what players attitudes were other than speculation . Keeping the same players will have the same results.    That’s insanity, doing the same thing and expecting different results.   Let’s hope for more player turnover and better results

Larry, you have GOT to be kidding me!  😆

I have an orange #46 with my name on back (CANTONMIKE) too. Same reasoning...46 is Don Fleming's retired number, year browns founded, & my birth year.

This I don't agree with.   (I agree that NY may not take a QB)

When you're looking at the most important person for the whole football organization, you don't use a coin flip.  When professional evaluators sit down and evaluate the 4 QB's they WILL come to a conclusion as to which one best fits the situation of that organization.  I just don't see it being an intelligent thing to do, that you pick a player to tackle people and leave the guy who can throw TD passes to chance.

  • Canton - I also learned a looong time ago now....NOT to buy current player jerseys.  FA has made them move around.....and the shirts are LOUSY car wash rags.  🙂

number '00'  with VETTEDAWG as my name.  (It's a 2000 Corvette...ordered from the factory....currently, 34,000 miles.... - I was VetteDawg on other forums)

  • I rock a Ryan Pontribriand  jersey.
