According to Pro Football Talk, there is an annual $500,000 escalator available in Tretter’s contract that is tied to playing time.

@tour2ma said: Nate Ulrich‏ @NateUlrichABJ #Browns RB Isaiah Crowell on his contract situation: Both sides trying to get something done but we're just trying to get it done right Getting it done right maybe a little bit mus-hie when you look at the RB market? Crow's agent looking up at the unproven's like Mike Gillislee @3.9M and Rex Burkhead @3.1M make a case. Crow(2.746M) behind this OL-line looks to be betting on himself..Some closer equals? M.Lynch 2.9M,,CJ Anderson 3M,,F.Gore & Eddie Lacy both 3.5M EDIT--How is Bilas Powell & Shane Vereen worth over 4M? Tell Brady his money went to 2 RB's & 2 WR's

@poplarbluffman said: from St Louis..Williams does a great job of coaching his system based on the talent level of his players..changes game by game based on opponent and his injuries. also coaches his players to play chippy or outright dirty..lot of personal fouls, late hits...and head shots to qb's very good but not great D coordinator Better than what we have had which were very bad D coordinators. O'Neil, Horton.

@stinkhole said: A couple weeks ago I have agreed with you that the Steelers and rats about the same. No longer. At seasons end the Steelers along with the Pats will emerge as the teams to beat in the AFC. They remind me so much of that 7-5 team that ran the table, then spanked the bungles, the Manning led Colts, then Denver on its way to winning the Super Bowl. Don't doubt me on this. Doubt would mean uncertainty. There is no uncertainty. You are full of shit. Pats, Chiefs, Raiders are better. Maybe Broncos. Tits coming on. You might be better than the Ravens....but only by a cunt hair. Where is that final game between the two teams to be played? Pitt or Balt? Home team wins.

@mjp28 said: Oh yeah! My wife who's an excellent cook makes ribs with sauerkraut every New Year plus several times during the year. She has a great way of preparing the kraut, I'll have to ask her when she gets home. I like plenty of kraut left offer to have with hot dogs on a bun with yellow mustard and Tabasco sauce....uuummmmm. Put up the recipe if you can.

Most end up that way after we're thru with them...

@mudfly said: @gftchris said: For me, my 2017 depth chart looks like this: QB - Need/Kessler/McCown/ RB - Crowell/Johnson TE - Barnidge/Need WR1 - Pryor WR2 - Coleman WR3 - Hawkins/Higgins LT - JT LG - Bitonio C - need RG - Greco RT - need OL - need, need, need RDE - Bryant/Nassib LDE - Ogbah/Cooper RDT - Shelton/Meder LDT - Need OLB - kirksey/need ILB - Collins/Davis OLB - Orchard/need CB1 - Haden/need CB2 - need CB3 - need/Taylor FS - need/Poyer SS - Campbell/Kindred My list......based on a 4-3......and lets assume there are several starters who could/should be upgraded....... So....my count has us needing a minimum of 8 "starter quality or BETTER" players.....plus another 6-8 contributors......so, just 16 players away!!!!! Could Schobert at least serve as a backup?

@jiggins7919 said:He's going to be in the game, and my guess? He's going to be rushing the passer because that's maybe the easiest thing to do from a learning perspective. Don't know the defensive plays? That's ok. Go hit the guy who throws the ball. And that would be a refreshing change... Sounds like a likely use to me as well... sub packages... not a lot of 1st-down, base D snaps.

@tour2ma said: Agree with much of your full post... less so in its closing paragraph. While it's true Cam is tall for a Center, regardless of where you play on the OL "explosion" out of a stance is a requirement of the position and Cam does not have it. Wherever you put him on the line the D will adjust and expose him. This is what I said during his stint at OG last season. And when I reviewed his limited tape at Center at LSU, it was clear that he had issues whenever a DL covered him. This is why I laughed when folks said he'd be fine once moved to Center, his "natural" position. And it is not as if there have not been successful, tall interior OL in the league. As for OT... no, just no. He does not have the feet for PassPro. That was clear on his LSU tape... on a lot more tape than had him at Center. His only chance is in the "phone booth" and even in there his reaction to stunts, any quick rush is woeful. Put him on the edge and as a DC I overpower him with big DEs on early downs and run around him in passing situations. He simply cannot be hidden. Might he improve? Sure... but even vs. other OL prospects on our roster, I do not like his odds. I haven't looked at film outside of Browns games so I will certainly defer to you on that. I hoped he may be able to generate more explosion out of OT but it sounds like a long shot. I do know Hue is thinking about trying him at OT. The season is shot so may as well give him that one last shot before you show him the door. http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2016/11/hue_jackson_says_if_cam_erving.html

@orion said:Norv has always been a respected offensive coach. Yes, but I feel like this was not the case when it came to his Viking's HC. Zim's a great DC, but "Volatile" is his middle name and as a DC he had an HC to keep him in line.... to keep him from going full Buddy Ryan. There is no check on him as HC so I could see him getting on staff in general the past three years and more and more on Norv as fortunes have turned recently. @clevfan4life said:According to ghoulie oc's and dc's are coffee mules. So that means the last time i felt the entire defense might be on to something was under shurms 4-3. So ill leave it at that Shurm's 4-3??? Dick Jauron has not been in the league since we sent him packing after the 2012 season.

@gftchris said: Pre-season out of the way, roster basically set, it's time for some prognosticating. So, without further ado, who will be...: Browns' leading receiver Gordon Browns' leading rusher Crow Browns' leading passer McCown Browns' sack leader Nassib Browns' INT leader Taylor NFL Top Rusher Jamaal Charles NFL Top Receiver Antonio Brown League MVP Aaron Rodgers Comeback PotY Luck Offensive RotY Dak Prescott Defensive RotY Bosa And, if you're feeling fruity, one bold prediction Miami, SF, Browns, Eagles, and Chargers are the 5 worst teams this year

These are unofficial depth charts created and distributed by the media department. They are not the charts Hue Jackson is using. I get them from the Browns media e-mail distro.

@the-gipper said: No, again....I ask....this guy is facing at least his second offense. And they only give him 4 games. Yet they gave Gordon an entire year for his second offense......and are continuing to threaten to keep him out. Again....where is the equity here. How are the cases different to warrant such divergent treatment? Heck....why is Bell being treated differently than his teammate Martavis Bryant. Why would not Jimmy Haslam be screaming bloody murder over this apparently clear favoritism toward a Steeler player. And of course, the greater question: why are they still bothering to test for marijuana or alcohol at all? I think the best equity in these situations would have been to have let it all go......but as long as they do have this rule, they should be equitable, and in this case it does not appear that they are. Can anyone explain it? Yeah Gip. Gordon got the year for 1) 1st bust- weed 2) 2nd bust- purple drank 3) 3rd was for the damn drink on the plane. That was his third fail- and showing up with a diluted piss test this spring didn't help his cause. Severe punishment for piddly stuff- but them's the rules. But you only get 2 games for beating the shit out of your girl friend. Bell is in stage two- at least. He had one suspension reduced- and to be fair, so did Gordon. Bell's next suspension will cost him 10 games.

@mudfly said: Cant say anyone on the original list would be a surprise cut, cause only 2 were even starters......so "most" of em need to step up or hit the road, but none would surprise me if cut.... Dansby was my surprise cut..... Kruger "should" be cut....the only surprise to me is that they keep starting him..... I guess, Desmond would surprise me, as he's played pretty well and is now injured.....BUT....he is our highest paid defender, so if $$$ are an issue, he'd be a good one to chop(along with Kruger, of course, who's vastly overpaid) Again, correct me if I am wrong but a player on the DL cannot be cut. And I understand that DesBee will be on the DL for the year. So he should not be cut and will be paid Question: Do players on the year long DL count against the salary cap?
