Today, they can find undrafted OL, CB, Safety, WR, Edge Rush, PK, Long Snapper, etc...

There's really nobody else unless they can pry Vrabel... I don't think Fickell is the answer... I don't think Ryan is totally bad but I also don't think hes incredibly great.... I think the first thing to do is ax Chip Kelly... Get a big strong pocket passer..I like Will Howard... But I think hes Gardner Minshew.. I don't think hes first round material... I think he has potential to be a great back up in an athletic system... But... Jury is still out... Hes got the playoffs to change our minds...

The main competitors to replace him are Alex Orji, Jack Tuttle and Davis Warren. Orji played scattered snaps as a running threat last season, while Tuttle attempted 17 passes in a backup role. Warren, who's been on campus since 2021, tossed five passes as a deep reserve. And the spring—unsurprisingly—did not answer the question. In the scrimmage, Orji completed 11 of 17 throws for 95 yards and added a 17-yard touchdown scamper in the spring game. Warren finished 6-of-9 for 136 yards and two scores. Tuttle, a seventh-year player, did not participate this spring due to an undisclosed injury. Third-year quarterback Jayden Denegal and freshman Jadyn Davis are part of the competition, too. Mayfield is still on the final year of his rookie deal.  My 0.03 [inflation has taken it from 2 to 3 cents] is that he won't see more than 6/yr ever again.. and he'll turn down his first couple backup-level multiyear contract offers after the 22-23 season to play for two consecutive one-year deals.  He'll play poorly on both and won't be rostered after 2025.
