Libertarians are pro-free trade, but the TPP is a lot more than a simple "free trade" agreement - otherwise it wouldn't be thousands of pages long.

      Fuck yea

Gary Johnson supports the TPP and is a giant douche. Third party candidates historically poll higher than what they get votes though.

He's better than Jill Stein though, but Gary Johnson is no Ron Paul that's for sure.

wait the libertarian guy supports TPP? srsly?

      Gary Johnson is a wacko

I wouldn't mind seeing him in the debates, but I hate that the third party candidates are so fringe

I mean, you're giving me a choice between a wacko, a loudmouth, and a corrupt shill. Not really many options to go around.

      @vaportrail said:

I guarantee the establishment rewrites the rules to prevent it if Gary hits threshold.

Oh, you know they're going to try to, but I think the cat is out of the bag on how corruptly-ran the Commission for Presidential Debates really is, and people are taking notice.

Clinton would pass the TPP,despite not supporting it at the moment.at the very best change a few insignificant things and call it fixed.

But voters are morons for the most part.

          They have no idea.

Agree... Johnson will be in the debates.

I'd prefer to see 1-on-1, but it likely ends up a 3-way.

The concept of things like executive orders and a presidential election not being tied to senate/congress/legislative elections make it basically impossible for a third party to have a credible chance as there's no such thing as a minority or coalition government.

Those who love a free-for-all should probably favor a 4 party contest rather than 3. You could have a center-right comma Center left and a hard right and left.

With a 3 Party you're almost guaranteed that the majority will be unhappy.

Johnson has my wasted vote. I live in WV so Trump will win in a landslide. He came here and said "I will bring coal back". No real explanation (as per usual) but the locals rejoiced.

three would be better than two, but four would be better still. I mean, there's a functional limit on how many relevant parties you can have - a hundred parties with different policies and one percent of the vote each is kinda pointless. But as I said, the system of a president who can circumvent the will of the democratically elected legislatures is not one that lends itself to compromise and collaboration.

I just want to see 1-on-1 because seeing Clinton get stumped is more entertaining than watching Johnson gets stumped, who nobody even cares about.

They agreed on social issues but not on economics. I thought people pretty well knew that.

It'd be interesting to see comparisons between trump and hillary on things like that. Plus, for fun, Bernie, this indie, and maybe a cruz/carson/kasich.

He supports TPP. Not a libertarian position to support a overly complicated unfair trade deal.

in this election, anybody here could poll 13 percent,

except for the woodpecker - he wouldn't muster

                                      a 1 percent. They don't vote.

You know Cal, if you really want to slob Woody's knob that badly, all you'd probably have to do is ask him. The whole "insult woody to disguise my true feelings for him" motif that you do in nearly every thread is getting a bit worn out. Most people quit that shit in elementary school, dawg.

You know Cal, if you really want to slob Woody's knob that badly, all you'd probably have to do is ask him. The whole "insult woody to disguise my true feelings for him" motif that you do in nearly every thread is getting a bit worn out. Most people quit that shit in elementary school, dawg.
