@jadbf said:Solid Career? Really???? Of all those guys I named. You think they had "solid Careers"? And just missed out on the HOF or something??? again. look a little closer. NOT ONE OF THEM ANY WON ANYTHING. They barely ever had winning seasons. I'm sure that can be blamed on the defenses they played with though right? And yes that is my exact point. DA WILL LIKELY not have anything more than a career as a journeyman pro/back up. And yes. I want more than that from my QB. And I wont' disagree that you could find many many first round QBs like Quinn who ended up being even bigger busts than all the journeymen I just compared DA to. My ONLY point was to show folks (not you, puppets can't learn, then can only reguritate what they've been told) who want to point to DA's 2007 season as some sign that he has what it takes to be that HOFer that we all want. that ONE GOOD season doesn't mean a whole lot. but thanks for playing! LOL...Caps, multiple ?????, you writing like me now?

@dan-in-florida said: Wednesday Camp Notes By Fred Greetham Hank Fraley and Ryan Tucker appear to be in battles for backup positions. Tucker is listed as the backup at right guard to Floyd Womack, while Fraley is listed as the starting center ahead of No. 1 pick Alex Mack. However, Mack is seeing more and more time with the first team. Mangini said he is happy with the progress Mack has made. “I thought he made some good steps from the first game,” Mangini said. “Not that he played poorly in the first game. He’s running a lot fewer laps, now.” Thanks for sharing that Dan! Good stuff. That's GREAT news about Mack. Like Riff always tells me - it's gotta be HELL being evaluated by how well you block Rogers one on one. Can you imagine being a rookie and the ergonomics of you're first day of work involving a 340 pound unblockable beast in your intimate space staring you right between the lookers for 2 hours? Hard to look forward to tomorrow as they say. If you have that every play and every day - it's hard to think about progress as much as survival without embarassing yourself too much. Understanding this, Mack is showing progress which coincides with Rogers missing practices and working with trainers. I think it's smart to minimize wear and tear on Rogers during this who's who evaluation period/process. That's GREAT news that Jamal is a GOOD teammate and teaches the younger guys. I think he actually PUSHED Harrison as he worked out with him between 07 and 08. - Tom F.

mz. said:Now that's just disgusting. hehe... wondering if I'd get a response on that.

mz. said:I don't recall him being much of a "hard-hitter." Save for that Chad hit, of course. I remember him being a liability. I'll take Jones, Pool, Adams, Elam, Felix Wright, Thane Gash.............................. Jones had one showcase year ('showing' potential), that all ended abruptly, do to injury or whatever. He was as bad as Percy Ellsworth last season. Pool hasn't done anything ... he can't even point to 'one big Chad Johnson hit' . Elam came in high billing, but has been burned already in the preseason. Feliz Wright & Thane Gash aren't even close to being from this 'New era', except that Thane is a buddy of TheBrownsBoard on our facebook page (seriously).

AdaM said:spooky isnt it? Dangit! You mean I've been caught in Goolie's trap? Didn't even see it coming! Nice job Goolie., ya got me. BTW, can't spell his name right, because it changes automatically to Tom V., just like Rapelisberger

Eric Mangini said:I had the nickname ‘Penguin’ at the time, that’s a really flattering nickname LOL Even some of the journos laughed when he said that.

@timugen said:Oh, you mean the one in which Ray Lewis and Ed Reed were on the sideline? Yeah I saw that one. Unfortunately, I also saw every single snap he took with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed on the field. The boy was SCARED. To be fair, Ray-Ray did stab a guy.

@erie-dawg said:Just for sake of argument why can't DA run that style? And from what I’ve read Daboll runs the same exact style Offence as N.E. does now. In theory DA should be able to run that style. But DA seems to struggle when he is asked to make pre-snap reads (which you have to do on short drops) and his short passing game leaves a lot to be desired. If DA demonstrated that he can make pre-snap reads and can consistently throw a catchable ball on short throws (5~10 yard range say), then he could do it. But based on what I have seen of DA those two items are still glaring holes in his game. It won't be the same NE offense today (don't think as many deep balls, but CLE doesn't have Moss and if NE didn't have him, I don't think they'd go deep as much as they do now), but bits of it, along with traditional WCO, and a few other piece parts. From what I have seen and read, Daboll/Mangini want more of a ball control offense, which is built on running the ball and quick hit passes.

What?! No mention of Costanzo?! Pfffft. (a good review)

@shepwrite said:- And for what little it's worth, Kerry Collins can throw 62 yards. In shorts. Without a pass rush. And just to be clear, Jeremiah said that Kerry Collins is a 6 at this point of his career. Probably was a 7 a couple years ago.

Thanks for all the help Dan.

@elinnice73 said:I have to totally agree with you Greg, going into this movie I knew it was about alien refuges on Earth. After seeing it, there is much more about District 9 and its inhabitants. This is one of the greatest Sci-fi movies I have seen in a while, I loved it. You also did a great job on the review, not giving away the story, which I liked. Keep up the good work. I agree with you. This is by far one of the best sifi movies in a while and I am shocked there is a thread bashing it.

And sell some of those 50% tickets the team is trying to sell.

I think you would actually have to SEE what's happening to judge it fully.

Only 7,000 fans? Wow. I don't think the overall fan base is as optimistic as some of us.

@shepwrite said:Interesting about James Davis. If the guy keeps this going in preseason, he may take the first snap. Unreal. Man I suck at digging up stats, but didn't this kid have 1 fumble his entire career @ Clemson? Holy shit can you imagine him starting - a 6th round pick?

Aloysius said:Barton, Bowens, and Mosley were free agents. One reporter made the mistake during minicamp of asking Barton about "coming over in the trade", and he wasn't happy about it. To many players, getting traded is an insult of sorts; your old team was willing to get rid of you for someone else. I wouldn't be too hard on Shep - for his comment about the draft. I think he was mostly talking about the draft as well as soem of the guys we got from the NY Jets via the tradedown as well as the FA route. I'm sure the players DO get mad at the media because they're getting paid to report accurate info. I'm excited about what we've done in the offseason. I hope the football gods are KIND to us on the injury front this year. I'm not as devastated about Hadnot as others might be. I think it SUCKS because he's worked hard from what I heard; BUT I liked knowing there are better alternatives to him on this roster. Mankok is changing mankind in Cleveland 1 day at a time. We finally gotta a team with more testosterone than Worthlessberger's dates. - Tom F.
